I dance because I must - stagnation is death. Dancing challenges me emotionally and physically, necessitating development and growth. I dance to find out who I am, I dance to handle the struggles of my life, I dance to conquer my fears, and I dance to do the impossible. My works are powerful, individualized explorations expressed through complex, stylized movement. Using the same creative processes I learned in after-school breaking sessions and late night practices, I create vigorous, dynamic movement that pushes the boundaries of what is humanly possible. I remove breaking movement from its traditional battle-oriented context and use it to investigate the complexities of human life. Life is a beautiful struggle, and I celebrate that struggle.
